Analysis of 2011 China Hardware Products Imports & Exports
According to the statistics of China Customs, the hardware imports and exports in 2011 amounted to USD94.958 billion, up 21.67% over 2010, among which the total export value reached USD74.259 billion (up 22.9%) and the total import value reached USD20.699 billion (up 17.5%).
A. Export Status:
China exports to Asia achieved USD24.525 billion (up 25.22%), to Europe achieved USD21.265 billion (up 19.72%), to North America reached USD17.296 billion (up 19.5%), to Africa reached USD4.070 billion (up 22.84%), to Latin America reached USD4.888 billion (up 47.54%), and to Oceania reached USD2.215 billion (up 30.5%). The main exporting countries and regions in order were the US, Japan, Germany, Russia, Hong Kong and the UK. The number of the overall exporting countries and regions was 226.
Comparison of other export categories: 1) Construction hardware- the export value was USD30.843 billion (up 26.8%), among which the value of wire, nails and nets was USD9.13 billion (up 30.8%), that of valve products was USD7.5 billion (up 29.2%), that of faucet products was USD4.389 billion (up 9.3%), that of tube connectors was USD4.779 billion (up 36%), that of door and window hardware accessories was USD2.987 billion (up 31.1%), and that of hinge products was USD884 million (up 16.2%). 2) Hardware for daily use- the export value was USD11.382 billion (up 16.6%). 3) Hardware Tools- the export value was USD10.606 billion (up 26.7%). 4) Stainless steel products and kitchenware- the export value was USD4.044 billion (up 13.5%).
B. Import Status
China imports from Asia reached USD10.169 billion (up 15.91%), from Europe reached USD7.62 billion (up 16.47%), from North America reached USD2.716 billion (up 18.2%), from Latin America reached USD103 million (up 27.02%), from Oceania reached USD65 million (up 13%) and from Africa reached USD8 million (up 9.36%). The first five importing countries and regions in order were Japan, Germany, the US, South Korea and Taiwan. The number of the overall importing countries and regions was 147.
Comparison of other import categories: 1) Construction hardware- the import value was USD12.567 billion (up 17.3%), among which, the value of valve products was USD7.126 billion (up 21.3%), that of wire, nails, nets was USD3.694 billion (up 11.3%), that of tube connectors was USD998 million (up 6.5%), that of faucet products was USD318 million (up 22.3%), that of door and window hardware accessories was USD176 million (up 43.1%) and that of hinge products was USD185 million (up 35%). 2) Hardware Tools- the import value was USD5.166 billion (up 21.9%), among which that of measuring tools was USD2.673 billion (up 26.4%), that of small electrical tools was USD433 million (up 16.1%), that of wrenches was USD118 million (up 2.6%), that of saws was USD234 million (up 35.3%), that of tool sets was USD40 million (up 53.8%), that of pliers was USD36 million (up 28.6%) and that of garden tools was USD4.9 million (up 28.9%).3) Hardware for daily use- the import value was USD970 million (up 10.7%). 4) Locks- the import value was USD584 million (up 15.9%).
