Fastener World and Taiwanese Fastener Suppliers Visit Sunco’s Advanced Logistics, Packing & Storage Centers

On Nov. 19, Fastener World and Taiwanese fastener suppliers continued to visit Sunco's Higashi Osaka Logistics Center and Nagata Center for packing & storage to learn more about the company's innovative approach to efficiently integrating its logistics, packing and storage systems, which used to cause a “headache” for other suppliers.
The Higashi Osaka Logistics Center set up in 1989 is an important hub for Sunco's high-quality fasteners to be distributed quickly to the Japanese and global markets. Aiming for a nearly 100% non-defect rate in shipments, the Center is equipped with the latest automated warehousing facilities and continuous packing lines. Each item in the Center is barcoded and stored, allowing real-time control from inventory, order intake, to shipments. The Center is one of the outstanding examples in Japan that have actively introduced IT technology and latest logistics systems. Currently, Sunco has 5 professional advanced logistics centers in Higashi Osaka, and has simultaneously introduced the small-lot rotary racks system, which can more accurately and efficiently handle small-lot & multi-category orders (even a single piece of screw) from customers.
The Nagata Center is a packing & storage center set up by Sunco about 7 years ago and has become well-known in the industry in recent years for its high efficiency in product packing and storage. The Nagata Center is also equipped with high speed cranes to handle the storage and removal of products. Both the Higashi Osaka Logistics Center and the Nagata Center create strong advantages for Sunco, which ships up to 30 million items per day.
At the end of the second-day visit, many Taiwanese suppliers said that the introduction of IT technology for management has been a common trend in advanced countries in Europe, the United States and Japan, and that Sunco's efforts to optimize its product logistics, packing and warehousing systems are definitely worthwhile for Taiwanese industries to observe and learn from.
