German Auto Posts High Sales in 2011
German-made automobiles output exceeded 5.9 million units last year, up 7% compared with 2010, and increased one million units compared with 2009. The sales of the auto industry even created a new record to EUR358 billion with a YoY growth of 13%. Almost all auto manufactuers in the fourth quarter 2011 achieved full production capacity.
Annually, 3/4 Germain-made automobiles are for export. The total export volume reached 4.55 million units in 2011, up 7% comapred with 2010. In addition to the hot sales, German people also love their domestic products. The new cars registered with license plates last year amounted to 3.2 million units, up 10% compared with 2010. It is expected that the domestic sales will remain flat or slightly increase compared with 2010, and the global auto market will increase 4% to 68 million units.
German-made auto sales showed an increase in the U.S. almost every month last year. For example, the sales volume of Benz substantially increased 55% and Ford performed an amazing growth of 41% as well.
