Important Notice! The EU Repealed the Antidumping Duties on Certain Iron & Steel Fasteners Originating in China on Feb. 27, 2016
The European Commission announced on Feb. 27, 2016 that it has repealed the antidumping duties on certain iron and steel fasteners originating in China and consigned from Malaysia (whether they are declared as originating in Malaysia or not).
According to the official journal, the EC determined that the antidumping measure launched according to Regulation (EC) No 91/2009 should be terminated.
This repeal has become effective since the day after the announcement of the official journal. However, duties already imposed before this date cannot be claimed to be reimbursed.
This repeal effective on Feb. 28, 2016 will definitely influence Taiwanese fastener export to Europe. According to the consular mission of Taiwan abroad, European (especially Italian) importers may consider cancelling the orders which have been made to Taiwan before. The full article of the official journal can be read at http://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/PDF/?uri=OJ:JOL_2016_052_R_0012&from=EN
On the other hand, the EU’s resolution has also aroused the discontent of local European fastener manufacturers, who are proposing to launch another complaint to the dumping of different fasteners. It is believed that the proposal will be submitted soon and until then we’ll know which type of products will be influenced.
