Application of aluminum powder metallurgy product in auto parts can reduce automobile weight, oil consumption, and waste gas emission. Most of structural aluminum powder metallurgy products are forging or casting alloy composition, usually 2000 or 6000 series of aluminum alloy with contents of copper, magnesium, and silicon. Some alloy powder has been developed that can be used in the production of precision aluminum powder metallurgy products. For the last few years, aluminum powder metallurgy develops toward near eutectic and hyper-eutectic composition of Al-Si alloy, which possesses excellent mechanical property and wear resistance.
