Taiwan's Fastener Industry Upgrade Brings Positive Results
Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs has been activley upgrading the metal material industry and self-supporting material supply. In 2011 the ministry set up the southern Taiwan industry development office in Kaohsiung to assist southern Taiwan in utilizing various administrative resources. In addition, the ministry integrates and intermediates between the industry and academia by satisfying the collective demand of the industry and passing on the research results of the academia to the industry, in order to bring academic studies into the applications of the industry faster.
Take the fastener industry for instance, the Industrial Development Bureau gives very much assisstance for fastener companies aiming at high-level product markets, and helps them gain the ability to inspect product by themselves so as to improve competitiveness. A positive accomplishment is Sanshing's fastener inspection center, also the first one in Taiwan provided by a fastener company. Chun Yu developed anti-loosening bolts for high speed railway and overcame the limitations on patents. Boltun developed aerospace bolts and offshore wind turbine fasteners, entering the supply chain for Siemens.
