The types Z, M, L and LL are distinguishable by means of their divergent inner and outer diameters and have the minimum hardness of 150HV (compared with DIN, e.g. washers DIN 125: min. 140HV) that is specified in the French standard. 。 Some individual dimensions of the types Z (M5, 10, 12 and 16) and LL (M16) have the same dimensions as DIN 125 (type Z) and 9021 (type LL) washers, and with regard to the others, the differences in dimensions are in many cases only minor.
