New Russian GOST R Certification Logo Starts Using in Dec. 27

The new logo of GOST R certification products exporting to Russia will start using officially on Dec. 27, 2010. GOST R certification covers a wide range of products, having notable influences. According to the statistics from Russian Federal Agency on Technical Regulation and Metrology, the certification scope includes pressure equipment, integrated mechanical equipment, elevators, electrical equipment, electronic appliances, hardware products and so on, its coverage gets beyond 90% of Russian market products. The new logo applies to all CoC (Certificate of Compliance) and DoC (Declaration of Conformity) products, the places needed to mark are product labels (mandatory), product manual (mandatory), and product packaging (optional). The concrete implementation details are as follows:
1. All products certified later than Dec. 27, 2010 are necessary to use the new logo.
2. The products certified ahead of Dec. 27, 2010 are still allowed to use the old logo until the certifications are invalid, or certification applications delay and renew, etc.
