Showtime in Las Vegas: Live fastener tests on new portable Junker Test bench
October’s headline act features Vibrationmaster’s new J100 portable Junker Test bench, with live tests throughout the National Industrial Fastener & Mill Supply Expo
Esbjerg, Denmark – Friday 5th October 2012: For the first time, fastener manufacturers and distributors can witness live demonstrations of fastener Junker Tests to DIN 65151. They’ll be taking place throughout this year’s National Industrial Fastener & Mill Supply Expo in Las Vegas. Vibrationmaster’s booth, number 1050 in the Machinery and Tooling World space at the Sands Expo, will feature two J100 portable Junker Test bench demonstrators running vibration tests on a range of manufacturer’s fasteners to determine their self-loosening behaviour.
“Until now, fastener manufacturers have been limited in their ability to demonstrate the effectiveness of their fastener securing elements,” explains Vibrationmaster CEO Morten Schiff. “Now, for the first time, fastener manufacturers can actually demonstrate the resistance to self-loosening behaviour of their bolted joints using wedge washers, lock nuts and other securing elements, live and in front of their clients.”
And that’s exactly what Morten will offer fastener manufacturers visiting Las Vegas: the opportunity to subject their M12 1/2 inch fasteners to a live Junker Test, and to bring along existing and prospective clients to witness the test. “The J100 is so practical and easy to operate we can have a new product under test in only a minute. We invite fastener manufacturers to run a free test and prove how well their securing elements perform. No appointment is necessary; just turn up with your fasteners and locking elements to test,” adds Schiff. “We’ll show how straightforward it is to operate the J100, making it suitable for use by non-engineers delivering sales presentations.”
The Vibrationmaster J100 Junker Test Bench Demonstrator can test fasteners in ISO metric M5 to M12 and UTS sizes #10 to ½ inch to DIN 65151, with fastener changes taking as little sixty seconds. An added advantage is the unit’s portability: at 25kg (56lb) it is easily transportable and runs off a standard mains electrical supply.
The test rig chassis is made from high-strength aluminium with optional leather-bound handles and covers that can be custom-built, incorporating company logos, and are available in carbon fibre. The J100 has a handheld tablet with preinstalled software that can be used to demonstrate the test results and loosening curves of fasteners in real time.
“The overall impact of the J100 demonstrator, with its high-end display options and superb performance, is dramatic and crowd drawing,” continues Schiff. “And when connected to a digital projector, the hand-held tablet with its unique ‘VM Test’ software displays the test results live and in real time.”
Schiff concludes: “Fastener manufacturers using the J100 to demonstrate their product performance in front of live audiences when at trade shows and in client presentations will clearly differentiate themselves from their competitors.”
