Taiwan Fastener Exports to US and Europe in 2012 May Face Variable Factors
Taiwan’s export orders have dropped for a half year, and currently the situation turns better as industry insiders indicate that the fastener export orders from the US will have a higher growth than Europe. In other words, Taiwan’s fastener export orders will show a different situation in 2012 compared to the strong orders from Europe and weak orders from the US in 2011.
Taiwan fastener export volume and value both hit record high last year owing to the constant growth of the exports to Europe. The industry considers that the export strength in the first half of 2012 will not as good as last year but what is worthy mentioning is that the prospect for the exports to the US will be better than the exports to Europe. The reasons are as follows: Firstly, the US economic has a slow but better recovery and since in the next three years, the US will keep the low interest rate policy, the future outlook is expected to be positive. Next, because of the European sovereign debt crisis, the European buyers remain passive in the market. Finally, after the financial storm, Taiwan fastener exports to Europe have grown for the second straight year, thus leaving less space for the sales to further grow.
