2011 TFTA Annual Meeting-Mr. Jim C.N. Chen Takes Up New Position of 2012 TFTA Chairman,TFTA Members Attend the Meeting Enthusiastically!
Taiwan Fastener Trading Association (TFTA) held a friendly golf match in TAKANG SHAN GOLF, Kaohsiung, on December 6, 2011 to open the 2011 annual meeting. On the morning of December 7, TFTA conducted the GPF (Global Platform for Fasteners) and invited Bernhard Berrang, President of European Fastener Distributor Association (EFDA) and Jay Queenin, President of National Fastener Distribution Association (NFDA) to share their experience of the industry in GRAND HI-LAI HOTEL, Kaohsiung. In the afternoon, TFTA held the annual meeting and the chairman handing-over ceremony in Hanshin Arena. As over 250 members attended the ceremony, TFTA provided 25 banquet tables to welcome them. The occasion was really impressive and ceremonious!

The New Chairman Chen Takes Up New Position
Under the supervision of the TFTA founding chairman James Su and the supervisor Morris Liang, the new chairman Jim C.N. Chen took over the official seal from the previous chairwoman Tammy Huang and announced to take up the post officially. Chen next issued a statement, expressing his gratitude to all members and sponsors for their support and care as well as praising and admiring the great foundation established by all previous presidents, directors and supervisors. In the future, he will lead the board of directors to work together and make efforts to enhance TFTA’s visibility and quality of its service. Also, Huang said that TFTA is the first organization that she has participated actively, and she received a lot of support and assistance from the members during her position. Now, she fulfills her role successfully and feels very grateful!
Speeches Delivered by EFDA and NFDA Presidents Benefit the Members
In addition, the two presidents of EFDA and NFDA came to Taiwan to participate in the annual meeting. They not only attended the entire meeting time but also delivered great speeches, analyzing the European and North American economic conditions and industry trends in detail. The TFTA members have benefited a lot from the speeches and acquired the latest international industry news. Berrang, the EFDA president revealed that the European Union will keep imposing an anti-dumping duty on certain small stainless steel screws of China and Taiwan origin for 5 years with a duty rate unchanged. The news is expected to be announced on January 5, 2012. Queenin, the NFDA president collected many U.S. economic data for the members' reference, and pointed out that the U.S. economic outlook for 2012 is still uncertain and the pace of economic recovery will be very slow. Exciting Band Livens Up the Banquet
Finally, after introducing the 21 new members of the TFTA, the association then started the banquet activities. Chen spent his own money to invite a band to liven up the banquet atmosphere and the banquet became even more exciting. All members enjoyed the enthusiastic event very much.
