Following the last successful fastener event in New Delhi, the annual Fastener Fair India returned to Mumbai this year. The 2-day fair was a specialized event dedicated to finished/semi-finished fasteners, machinery, molds & dies and related service. It attracted nearly 200 exhibitors from India, China, Taiwan, Germany, Italy, France and Latvia to showcase their latest technology, products and service at Hall 5 of Bombay Convention & Exhibition Centre.
Fastener World also brought 20 Taiwanese companies to exhibit at the fair and discover business opportunities this year. These exhibitors were Hung Li (Hurmg Yieh), Home Soon, Jin-Chi, Yee Kun, Metal Fasteners, Yeswin, Lu Chu Shin Yee, Dah-Lian, Wan Iuan, Gwo Ling, Taiwan Industrial Fasteners Institute, Miao Sen, Kao Wein, Chi Shen, Sherex Taiwan, Chan Change, Chien Tsai, Patta, Ray Fu and Sanshing.
The venue was most of the time crowded during the 2-day event and most of the visitors were local Indian manufacturers, distributors and importers. As there are a large number of manufacturers in India, “machines” became visitors’ most inquired product category. However, there were also other manufacturers from local India coming to this fair to search for fastener suppliers.
Many exhibitors said that India is a quite potential emerging market and its manufacturing, automotive, construction and other related industries are very vibrant. Plus, India has become a country with the fastest economic growth in Asia. Its GDP growth has even outperformed that of China. As a result, the local market demand and the requests for fastener machines, molds & dies and fasteners continue to climb. According to one related market survey, India, one of the most important trade hubs in South Asia, is expected to become the world’s 5th largest consuming country and the world’s 3rd largest economy by 2020, revealing the high fastener demand and consumption in India.
The organizers also stated that the fair this year was more successful than its previous edition was, as more visitors came to the fair to make their inquiries and search for suppliers. Most of the exhibitors expressed their satisfaction with visitor quality and their purchase capability and said that they would definitely consider booking a stand at Fastener Fair New Delhi 2018.
