FastenMaster Launches Marine-Grade 316 Stainless Steel Structural Fastener

FastenMaster, a division of OMG Building Products, has expanded its structural fastening portfolio with the launch of MarineLOK, a heavy-duty structural screw made from 316 stainless steel and engineered for applications located within 1,000 feet of saltwater. Designed as a replacement for traditional ½-inch lag screws, MarineLOK is particularly suited to coastal wood-to-wood connections, including decks, docks and other outdoor structures exposed to harsh, corrosive environments. The fastener combines three key design features: a sharp Type-17 point for easier starting, serrated cutting teeth for efficient penetration, and inner threads designed to clear wood debris during installation. It also incorporates FastenMaster’s SureStart ThreadPoint technology to enhance installation performance. Charles Emma, senior product manager for FastenMaster’s structural business unit, said MarineLOK strengthens the company’s LOK product line by providing professionals with a true marine-grade 316 stainless steel structural fastener. He noted that the product is designed to deliver reliable strength and corrosion resistance in applications exposed to saltwater, chemicals and other demanding conditions. MarineLOK is offered in 3-, 4-, 5-, 6-, 8- and 10-inch lengths. Each box contains 30 fasteners and a T50 driver bit, providing a ready-to-use solution for coastal construction and other corrosion-prone applications.
