International Trade Environment Becomes More Difficult while Taiwan's Q4 Export Still Steady Grows

According to Taiwan's Bureau of Foreign Trade statistics, Taiwan's foreign trade gross value from January to August amounted to US$400.04 billion, growing 16.6% over the same period last year, with the export value of US$208.04 billion, growing 15.7% and the import value of US$192 billion, increasing 17.6%, the cumulative export surplus of US$16.03 billion, gliding 3.4% over the same period last year; and the export value of fastener products (HS code 7318) from January to July was US$2.199 billion, representing a growth of 31.8% over the same period and ranking the 13th among the export items.
