China's Flourishing Industries of Powder Metallurgy and New Materials
In “Guiding Catalogue of Industrial Structure Adjustment (2011 Version)”, which has been implemented since June 1, 2011, China for the first time in history added powder metallurgy parts into the 33th object of the 14th item “Machinery” of the first category “Encouragement”:new powder metallurgy parts:high density (≧7.0g/cm3), high precision, complex shape/structure parts, high-speed rail, aircraft friction device; porous bearing; the 16th item “Automobile,” and the 3rd item “Lightweight Material Application”.
On the other hand, in the “12th Five Year Plan of Chin's New Material Industry” which will possibly be issued in August, China focuses on the development of special metal function materials, advanced macromolecular materials, new inorganic non-mental materials, high-capacity and complex materials, and the leading edge new materials. China deploys new materials bases in different sites. The rate of China's new materials expansion reaches over 20%, and the market size of new materials last year was over US$ 80 billion. It is anticipated that the data will reach US$200 billion by 2015.
