Sunderland Fastener Co., Ltd. Advances Wind-PowerMarket
Sunderland Fastener, a subsidiary of Indian TVS Group, recently proclaims that they are going to spend 500 million rupees on building a factory in India, mainly for manufacturing special fasteners used for wind power. In addition, it will also invest 200 million rupees on the expansion of the local hot forging factory, mostly for manufacturing bevel gears. Accordingly, Sunderland will acquire the manufacturing technique of wind turbines and cylinder tower fasteners from German Peiner Umformtechnik, which has been acquired by Sunderland in 2005.
Sunderland Fastener Company situated at Chennai (India) mainly produces automotive fasteners and the related components. However, for the past few years, the wind power market in India has been growing rapidly. The market is potentially optimistic. Based on the statistics, the need of the wind power market in India at least reaches 3 billion rupees, and this is Sunderland's first move to other fields beside the automobile industry.
