Its export of cars assembled in Brazil this July was also down 15.3% from the same period last year and down 4.2% from the previous month in the same year. According to Luiz Carlos Moraes (Chairman of Anfavea), the car export of Brazil continued to drop could be mainly attributed to Argentina. Brazil’s export to Colombia and Mexico in August continued to increase, slightly offsetting the decline; however, its export this year may still appear a decline of 29%.
Brazil’s car production in the first 7 months this year was up 3.6% from the same period last year to 1.58 million units. Its production in July reached 266.4 thousand units, up 8.4% from the same period last year and up 14.2% from the previous month in the same year. According to Chairman Moraes, the significant growth in the domestic production also means the possible increase in future export.
