Keywords: Las Vegas, screw, Mandalay Bay Convention Center, 2018, Fastener World IFE had a grand opening on October 30 to November 1 at Mandalay Bay Convention Center. Despite a relatively large turbulence in world trade this year, IFE, the first-rate fastener and machinery show of the U.S. continues to enlarge in scale, attracting 850 exhibitors and more than 5,000 visitors from more than 30 countries, including manufacturers and master distributors of fasteners, precision formed parts, fastener machines/tooling, and related products.
As a critical cornerstone for promoting global fastener production and sales, Fastener World Inc. brought nearly a hundred Taiwanese exhibitors to the show and provided a powerful platform connecting the North American and Global fastener trade. According to on onsite correspondent, even though the world trade this year has turned tense, the number of exhibitors of IFE still grew moderately. The number of visitors and transaction remained at a certain standard. Overall, the scale of the show continues to enlarge. Additionally, this year China tops with largest number of exhibitors, followed by Taiwan, together with local American exhibitors, which tells that the show gathered the top 3 fastener producing countries. Specialists at the Fastener World booth handed out the latest publications and attracted many visitors and local exhibitors, introducing Asian and International fastener suppliers to them.
The show will be launched again in September 17 to 19, 2019.
Hong Kong Screw & Fastener Council Organizes First Overseas Exhibitors Group to IFE’18
As the only one association dedicated to fasteners and representing the interests of fastener enterprises in Hong Kong in local/overseas markets, Hong Kong Screw & Fastener Council (HKSFC) brought 18 HK-based fastener enterprises to exhibit at the Hong Kong Pavilion (executed by HKPC) of International Fastener Expo this year, which drew much of the attention of visitors from local U.S. and other countries during the event.
According to HKSFC, the Council successfully applied for the funds appropriated by the Trade and Industry Department (HKSAR) in 2018 and already set up a Hong Kong Pavilion at IFE’18 in Las Vegas and plans to set up another one at FF Stuttgart 2019, both of which aim to promote the powerful technical capabilities and professional skills of HK-based SMEs to the EU and USA, assisting HK-based fastener SMEs in tapping into the high value-added markets in the EU and USA, offering opportunities to HK fastener enterprises to grasp new business opportunities in the high value added markets in the EU and USA.
Established in 2003, HKSFC has grown into an association with over 200 fastener parts/machinery/materials/consultancy service providers and is always dedicating itself to fostering the development of HK fastener manufacturers and traders to facilitate mutual exchange and cooperation and promote the concept of fair trade and competition.

Fasco + Vegas Fastener Manufacturing
Aside from the Las Vegas show, the show organizer arranged a tour at two local major fastener companies. Those that were invited to the tour included Fastener World Magazine president William Liao, Taiwan Fastener Trading Association chairman Jimmy Chang, Hong Kong Screw & Fastener Council president Ms. Wai-Yee Wu, and other accompanying dignitaries of the fastener industry.
Fasco (Las Vegas)
Fasco is the top fastener distributor in Las Vegas. The company imports most of its products from multiple countries such as Taiwan, China, South Korea, and also import large batch of products from major American importers. The company supplies products to the construction and household markets as well as local hotels. The visitors took a group shot in front of the company during the tour.
VFM (Vegas Fastener Manufacturing)
VFM is one of the critical high-end fastener manufacturers in the U.S. supplying products to the U.S. and Europe. The company’s fasteners are first hoe forged and then processed through pressing and CNC machining, and therefore the fasteners have fairy high precision and are all made in the U.S.A.
