Nitto Seiko in Japan has developed the new self-locking screw “AbusLock” without the need of coating adhesive in the screw part to achieve the outstanding anti-loosening effectiveness. The new screw has been officially marketed in March 2011. AbusLock is manufactured with the same way as standard screws, so the cost is much lower than with the adhesive for anti-loosening. The screw size (diameter) includes 1.4mm, 1.7mm, and 2.0mm. The raw material is carbon steel, which can be treated in all kinds of plating treatment. AbusLock is extensively applied to OA equipment, home appliances, and other fastener area using small screw.
Such new screw targets at R&D innovation for threading in male threading parts. In particular, it makes good use of more steady shape in female threading parts, which makes male threading parts interfere uneven ventricle in order to achieve anti-loosening effectiveness. In addition, there are some qualities as follows: (a) It causes interfere to the screw ventricle with stable shape while passing with special threading to decrease the crack extrusion and cutting level, preventing chip. (b) The top of threading part is flatter than standard screws; the penetrating performance for nuts is great while being fastened.
