Böllhoff Group Donates €140,000
To celebrate 140 years of the company, the Bielefeld-based Böllhoff Group has this year given an extra €140,000 to 15 social projects in the region covering culture, art, literature and sport.
On 20 June 2017 Michael Böllhoff welcomed five representatives to the company headquarters in Bielefeld-Brackwede to hand over a symbolic cheque.
Beneficiaries included the SV Brackwede sports club to the tune of €25,000. Of this, the athletics section received €20,000 to build a new weights room and gym in the grounds of the Böllhoff stadium. The other €5,000 will be used by the swimming section to create new training and instruction facilities on free space at AquaWede in 2018.
The Bielefelder Bürgerstiftung community foundation and Ärztliche Beratungsstelle medical advice centre, working against child neglect and abuse, are also delighted to receive €10,000.
Salem House was awarded €5,000 from the pot. This Bielefeld community and conference centre looks after those under extreme mental pressure, for example, because they are caring for seriously ill relatives or are bereaved.
The long-running initiative “Volunteering together” also supports the voluntary community service of staff throughout the world. Representing all the funded projects, Wilfried Düwel received a cheque at the ceremony for the refurbishment of the open-air pool in Barntrup-Alverdissen.
