Japanese hardware developer/maker Tokunaga and Tim's (ティムズ販売) co-developed new wood fasteners such as hexagonal bolts and strip bolts that utilize "non-gap thread" technology. This development is to apply the technology, which is already used in the Japanese railroad and construction industry, onto wood structures. It is the first time that the Japanese hardware and fastener industry add anti-loosening function to wood screws and bolts.

The technology cuts out slits on the threads of a bolt to create a spring effect when the bolt engages with the female threads, thus eliminating the gaps between the male and females threads and achieving complete tightness as well as strong vibration resistance.
