iF Design Awards for three Hilti innovations
Three new Hilti tools received awards in this year’s renowned iF Product Design Awards competition.
The prize-winning BX 3 battery-powered fastening tool spawned by the Hilti innovation hotbed marks a world premiere – the first successfully developed cordless electric tool of its kind capable of driving fasteners into hard materials such as concrete or steel. Also the PR 3-HVSG rotating laser, featuring a green laser that’s more easily visible to the human eye, making it ideal for working over long distances or in bright conditions, was selected for an award. The third award went to the SF 8M-A22 / SF 10W-A22 family of cordless drill drivers equipped with high-performance 4-speed entirely metal gearing providing the optimum torque for drilling in wood.
The iF Product Design Awards jury, consisting of an international team of experts, assessed the entries according to design and ergonomic criteria as well as degree of innovation, safety, functionality and product quality. For this year’s competition, a total of 5,295 entries were received from 2,458 companies in 53 countries.
