Taiwan Industrial Fasteners Institute (TIFI) held the 1st “New Generation Social for Taiwanese Fastener Industry” at Grand-Hilai Arena on Feb. 26th. Called by TIFI Chairman Anchor T. H. Chang, this social event was enthusiastically attended by more than 50 members, who are the new generation in Taiwanese fastener industry.
The gist of this event was to provide the new generation in the fastener industry with a platform to get to know each other and exchange views with each other, in anticipation of finding out a more proper and favorable developmental direction and helping establish a goal for sustainability for Taiwanese fastener industry currently facing fierce competition from the global fastener industry. Chairman Chang personally also revealed his great expectation toward the success of the new generation social this time.
As attendees of this event were mostly the 2nd generation or the 3rd generation, “business succession” then becomes a hot issue. In order to give the potential new generation clearer picture of the industry and help them get ready for any challenge, TIFI invited Prof. Chieh-hsuan Chen, director of the Institute of East Asian Societies and Economies of Tunghai Univ. to lecture on topics such as business succession and strategies of world leading corporations with some case studies. Prof. Chen noted, “Personal connections may be important, but the acquisition of knowledge is more important,” giving sharp advice to the attendees that they should not only broaden the width of their personal connections, but also aggressively reinforce their professional techniques. In this way they can do any task with ease when they officially take charge of the company.
