Outlook of the Application to Micro Manufacturing Technology

Traditional precision machine system mainly uses the assembly to connect various components (such as gear, connecting rod, and slide block) and joint in setting up transmission or changing motion direction and way (such as linear motion and rotation) or mechanism used to transmit energy. In other words, precision machine system is mainly composed of 3 parts, namely driver, transmission, and follower. Driver includes motor and internal combustion engine, and transmission indicates gear, bearing, and connecting rod, while follower is plate cam, roller follower, and stand. After system has been miniaturized, due to “Scaling Effect”, many ignored physical phenomena in macro world must be considered while designing precision machine components. Physical phenomena include air damping, liquid surface tension, and so on, facilitating that many traditional precision machine components must be replaced to achieve a better working function.
