Guo Lian New Machine Release
Gwo Lian’s Wire Drawing Machinery Gets Upgraded
Strengthening Production Capacity of the Fastener Industry
by Tanya Shih, Fastener World Inc.
Gwo Lian Machinery Industry Co., Ltd., the manufacturing giant of metal wire drawing machinery, held a new equipment release event at its headquarters in Taiwan on October 2nd. Two sets of wire drawing equipment, which will be shipped to Voestalpine and a Japanese leading wire supplier in October, were both introduced during the event. General Manager Valentina Chen said with confidence, “Efficiency, capacity, and cost are the most critical pillars for business running. Innovation is one of the DNAs of Gwo Lian, but Gwo Lian conduct s R&D along with the application know-how of clients. Both of the highly efficient products featured in this event are the result of close communication with customers.
4-stage Speed-conversion Horizontal Wire Drawing Machine Helps Achieve Better Cost Control and More Efficient Production Lines
The patented “hydraulic clamp” in the horizontal wire drawing machine helps solve issues of work safety and efficiency in traditional manual chain pulling. The design of the pressure rollers help reducing the internal diameter of the drawn coil for dia. 30 mm wire down to 1100 mm, benefiting more batch in the following annealing process. The 4-stage speed-conversion mechanism in the gearbox satisfies the demand for drawing speed from 27M/min to 120M/min, and the machine can accommodate wires between diameters of 11-30 mm while at the same time ensuring wire quality, speed, and capacity. This upgrade immediately removes the customer’s cost for the need to purchase extra 3 sets of wire feeding and heading machines and helps reduce the required space for installing machines.
Automatic Double Wire Feeders, Combination of Efficiency and Capacity
On the other hand, the Automatic Double Wire Feeders is the upgraded version of the original automatic wire feeder. When the first Automatic Wire Feeder was released in 1996, it could be already used to fix the problem of tangled large-size wires, increase manual operating efficiency, and improve work safety. Now, the new double pay-off design containing two 180-degree horizontal feeding bars can “simultaneously implement heading and drawing” to save the standby time during wire feeding and their cost for buying extra wire feeders.
General Manager Chen said, “Asian drawing equipment manufacturers have already reached adequate technical level. Their Cost/Performance ratios and flexibility in customization have made them more competent than their German or Japanese counterparts. Not to mention the energy of mechanical design, Gwo Lian is also equipped with strong electronic programming capacity. In the most recent years, the remote monitoring system helps detecting production status, providing the on-line problem shooting and coordinating data for clients optimizing their production management.”
Gwo Lian is a Taiwanese brand and is proud of its revolutionary “Roller Cassette in wire drawing solution”, which differentiates it from other similar machines that used traditional dies in the global fastener industry over the past 5 decades. Gwo Lian has two plants in Taiwan and Jiaxing (China) offering wire drawing machines and other in-house equipment. Its products are sold to 39 countries in the world. Analyzing the global market, Chen said, “Drawing machinery manufacturer cannot be excluded in the global trend of automation and Internet of Things (IoT). We are trying to incorporate these two issues benefiting wire and fastener industry upgraded.” It is also believed that in the near future Gwo Lian will bring up another new epoch-making product.
