14 Year-old Taiwanese Invented Computer Anti-theft Screw
14-year-old Wong paired with his older brother and 10-year-old sister in cooperation with Winstrol Industrial Co., Ltd to develop Computer Anti-theft Screw that won the gold medal in INPEX 2015 - The Invention & New Product Exposition.
Wong says the invention of Anti-theft Screw was an inspiration from a stolen hard drive from a school computer. A common computer outer case is usually locked using average screwdrivers and is exposed to risk of getting plied open; therefore the Wongs add screws with irregular threads to the outer case so that the case requires a key to open, preventing the hard drive and important data from theft. This invention is pending for patent and priced at USD 2.
