Factory Tour to GSK InTek and Sheng Chyean

Taiwan Fastener Trading Association (TFTA) gave a factory tour to Changhua on Oct. 3rd. With the assistance of president of TFTA Central Chapter Johnson Chang, Executive Secretary James Hu and Vice Executive Secretary Carey Chen, the steering wheel manufacturer “GSK InTek” and the automated warehouse and facility supplier “Sheng Chyean” were both invited to be the host companies this time.
Different from last time, the tour was open for all members in Taiwan. With the assistance of the cadre, president of each chapter, executive secretary, and consultants, the registrants were nearly 100 members from over 60 companies. The event was successful and all participants were satisfied.
Since TFTA consolidated the operation of each chapter, activities have been consecutively given for every chapter in northern, central, and southern Taiwan, showing the dedication of TFTA to the growth of the fastener industry and demonstrating the ardent support from all members. After the perfect closure of the training session in October, the annual member meeting for TFTA will also be given soon in Taipei in December. GSK InTek
GSK InTek was established in Changhua 40 years ago. It started business as a manufacturer of bicycle hardware. After years of business expansion and technical integration, nowadays, it has factories in Taiwan, China, Vietnam, and Malaysia. Its service range is mainly for the automotive industry and each factory (subsidiary) takes responsibility over certain part of the business.
GSK, established in 1986, manufactures automotive steering wheels. The factory tour this time was at its factory in Shengang. As there were several members visiting the factory, GSK appointed lots of cadre to introduce the factory and demonstrated the manufacturing process of critical parts like steering wheels, airbags, airbag modules, and gears for guests divided in 3 groups.
Sheng Chyean
Sheng Chyean has been offering MRO service for wire rod manufacturing facilities and sell parts for automated systems since 1994. Afterwards it dedicated itself to the R&D of facilities for manufacturing colored/un-colored wire rods, including drawing machines, peeling machines, flat rolling machines, straightening machines, etc. Its products have been well received by many leading companies in Germany, Japan, UK, USA, France, S. Korea, Russia, Brazil, Turkey, Taiwan, China, India, Thailand, and Vietnam. Its business footprints are throughout the whole world.
In addition to specialized machines for wire rods, the whole-plant facilities and automated warehousing systems provided by its affiliated enterprise, Lung Yi Machinery, have also gradually become the main products of the company. As the land cost is getting higher and the vertical automated warehousing systems can maximize the utilization of space, industries focusing on offering effective and space saving automated warehousing systems continue to emerge, and this is why the factory tour was given this time.
