Japanese Designer Creates “Smiling-face” Screws
Japanese designer Yuma Kano designed a special screw with a groove on the head which looked like a smiling face. It can be easily used with the collocated screwdriver. Such a creation adds some pleasure to users.
He cooperated with a furniture company with the monthly capacity of a million pieces of screws to create the “smiling-face” screw. The top heads of general screws are usually processed with dies, but the head of the new screw has to be carved one by one. It is very difficult to control the face on the head, especially the depth and width of the “eyes”. So far, he only made a small quantity of “smiling” screws as the model, but plans to make more of them as the art décor before it is put to mass production.
