Official Opening of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone
The China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone comprises of the Waigaociao wharf, Waigaociao Logistics Park, Yanshan port, and Pudong airport with the total area of 28.78 sq km.
PRC’s Minister of Commerce Gao Hucheng said in the opening on Sep. 29 (Sun.) that China would make efforts to formulate regulations for the zone within 2 to 3 years, in order to make it highly convenient for investment, efficient under trade management, and international.
It is widely expected that, under the leadership of the newly elected premier Li Keqiang, China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, following the spirit of Shenzhen (Guangdong) Special Economic Zone opened in 1980, will become a model for the economic policies of China in the future again.
