China Steel Corp. Developed A-286 Nickle-Base Superalloy Wire Rod to Elevate Taiwan's Price Competitiveness

China Steel Corp. has successfully developed A-286 nickle-base superalloy wire rod. A-286 is a precipitation strengthened nickel-based alloy. It shows good torsion and anti-corrosion under the temperature of 700℃, and is widely applied to peripheral fasteners for aerospace jet turbine engines and car turbo chargers. Currently, A-286 used by Taiwanese high-temperature fastener companies are mostly improted from overseas nations; however, the price is high and the lead time is longer. In the future, Taiwanese companies will be able to quickly acquire key materials for high-temperature fasteners at a reasonable price. This will greatly help the industry to lower material cost and lift international competitiveness.
