Japan FCK to Present Research Results on Screw Exposure Corrosion Test
FCK (Fastener Associations in Kansai) spent almost 10 years on researching “Methodology of Screw Corrosion Life and Outdoor Exposure Test”. It will present the research result to NACE International The Corrosion Society in November this year, and publish to the association members and sponsoring members in February next year.In order to elevate reliability and technical level of screws, in the past 10 years FCK has been working on the so-called “FCK Testing Method”, a set of testing conditions for accelerated indoor experiment that can obtain estimated corrosion parameters under natural environment. The “FCK Testing Method” has completed patent registration and has proven its positive relevance to the test result of 7-year outdoor experiment. With FCK’s accelerated test, which only take a short period of 30 days, one can make a prediction on a screw’s corrosion process (within 1-year period) exposed outdoors at Japan’s coastal regions.
