Honda of Japan Invested 6.8 Billion Yens to Erect a New Factory in Malaysia in Operation

Honda of Japan announced on March 13 that its new factory in Malaysia has been in operation since February. The annual production capacity of this new factory is 0.3 million cars. Also, auto parts acquisition, manufacturing and sales are consolidated in a single place -- the new factory. Land acquisition and construction expense for the new factory totaled about 6.8 billion yens. When the factory started its operation, it employed about 1,100 people. The new factory sells its cars to the domestic market in Malaysia. Also, its painting system is highly efficient. The new factory also has exhaust emission testing facilities and a 400-meter long road for driving test.
