Germany's Trade Production Value Towards BRICs Grew 7-fold Over the Last 16Years
Destatis states that Germany's trade production value towards BRICs grew 7-fold during 1996 and 2011, whereas Germany's overall trade production value only increased by 2.5-folds.
Statistics show that Germany's export growth towards China is strongest. Its annual average growth rate reached 17.8% since 1996, and its annual average growth rate of export towards BRICs is 10.9%. The annual average growth rate of Germany's total export value in the same period is 6.7%. Germany's export towards BRICs mainly consists of machinery (27.4%) and automobile components (22.5%).
Meanwhile, imports from BRICs has increased substantially, with annual growth rate of 13.2%. Germany's annual average growth rate of total import in the same period is 6.5%. In 2011, Germany's import from Russia and Brazil mainly consists of oil, natural gas, agricultural produce and metal minerals, etc. Imports from India mainly consists of clothing and accessories. Imports from China mainly consists of computers, clothing and accessories.
