China Car Market’s First Four Months Sales Slightly Fall
According to the statistics of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CCAM), the output and sales of the domestic cars in the first four months remains stable with a slight growth of car output while a continuous reduction of sales. From January to April 2012, the domestic car output amounted to 6.4319 million units and sales 6.4175 million units, while the YoY growth of output grew 0.47% and that of sales fell 1.33%. The sector of commercial cars had a bad performance; both the output and sales showed double-digit reduction. The passenger car output and sales reached 5.0741 million units and 5.0491 million units respectively in the first four months, with the YoY growth of 3.99% and 1.89% respectively. The commercial car output and sales reached 1.3578 million units and 1.3684 million units respectively in the same period, with the YoY reduction of 10.8% and 11.62% respectively. In addition, the car exports in the first four months amounted to 278.9 thousand units maintaining the steady YoY growth of 23.8%.
The statistics showed that the top ten domestic car manufacturers with the best sales volume (including the exports) in the first four months in order were: Saic Motor, Dongfeng Motor, China FAW Group, Changan Automobile, Baic Group, Gaig, Chery, Huachen Auto Group, Great Wall Motors, and Jac Motors. The overall sales of the above listed companies amounted to 5.6371 million units, accounting for 87.84% of the total China domestic car sales volume.
