EU Anti-Circumvention Measure Proves Effective
The screw exports of China to different countries all exhibited growth in 2011, expect for the exports to Malaysia with a decline reaching 50%. The industry considers this is the successful result of the EU’s anti-circumvention measure and estimates that it will be difficult for the fastener exports of China to Malaysia to further grow.
It is reported that the fastener exports of China to Malaysia in 2011 amounted to 79,100 tons, down 46.28% compared to that of 2010. The average export unit price of the Chinese fasteners exported to Malaysia was USD1.627/kg. Though that price was up 26.5% compared to that of 2010, the export value was only USD129 million with a decline of 32% compared to that of 2010 due to the slump of the export volume.
