CSC March Price Expected to Be Flat

In time before Chinese New Year, China Baosteel Group Corp. announced that its February price of the main steel plates products, such as hot/cold rolled and galvanized, remains as the January price. The result may lead Taiwan CSC to keep its March price flat. The market participants indicate that the steel factories have reduced production to decrease the steel inventories in 2011, and they expect there would be a wave of inventory replenishment after the new year and thus the domestic steel price in Taiwan would have a chance to rebound in the second quarter in 2012.
