The 2012 FIN Calendar features technology unheard of when the first FIN Calendar was published in 1996: QR Codes.

G.L. Huyett included QR Codes in its July and October ads. Short for "Quick Response", a QR code is a type of matrix barcode that was first developed for the automotive industry. G.L. Huyett features the QR code to invite the fastener industry to use their smartphones to scan the code to visit the company's website.
