CSC Acquires ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems Certification
In collaboration with the Green Energy and Environment Research Laboratories of the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) for one year, the energy management system of the Taiwan China Steel Coporation (CSC) successfully passed the third party external verification of the British Standards Institute (BSI) in early December. CSC has received the ISO 50001 certification recently and becomes the first certified steelmaker in Taiwan.
CSC estimated the annual energy savings that can be verified are about 50,000 kiloliters of oil equivalent, reducing 12,000 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions, an equivalent of the carbon adsorption of 323 Taipei Daan Forest Parks in one year. The results are quite superior.
