U.S. Fasteners January to April Import Value Reports a 35% Increase YoY 
The U.S. fasteners import and export value of April, 2011 showed a growth on a year-on-year basis. The U.S. fasteners export value of January to April, 2011 increased 20.5% on a year-on-year basis, and the import value showed almostly a 35% increase YoY. The value of the U.S. fasteners export to Canada and Mexico in March, 2011 has hit a record high since the beginning of this year; the YoY Increases are respectively 16% and 21%. Canada and Mexico are the major two exporting countries of the U.S., accounting for 60% of the U.S. total export volume. The top three major importing countries of the U.S. fastener products in order are China (33.46%), Taiwan (30%), and United Arab Emirates (UAE) (7.64%); the main importing products are non-stainless steel nuts (15.42%) and the self-tapping screws under 6mm (11.36%).
