RCEP to Take Effect on Jan. 1st, 2022

On Nov. 2nd, the Secretariat of ASEAN announced that 6 ASEAN member states (i.e., Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam) and 4 other non-ASEAN member states (i.e., China, Japan, New Zealand, and Australia) have deposited their instrument of ratification, acceptance or approval, crossing the requirement for the Agreement to officially take effect. According to the Agreement, RCEP will come into force within these 10 countries on Jan. 1st, 2022.
